Literature Text

Dear Mr. Flint Johnson,

My name is William Silverwright. I have heard of your hard work and wonderful deeds in concern to helping out Naturalists and Herbalists around the United States and Canada. For that, I wish to offer you something...Ah, but I'm getting ahead of myself, aren't I?

Perhaps you may have heard of me...a multi-billionaire who has used his vast wealth to help out many others around the world. I assure you, people like me do exist and don't just hoard the money all for ourselves. After all, what good is money if you can't share the wealth?

In any case, my offer is this. I wish for you to come to a place that I believe will give you an honest and wonderful life. No, I don't expect you to believe I am taking you to some utopia, as those never truly exist, but I assure you that it's about as close to one as you can get. The place I am referring to is somewhere not charted on any map, and for good reason. The place is unlike what you would believe, and there are others here who think the same way.

However, I am not one to force such a decision on you lightly, so please do think it over carefully. You will be leaving your old life behind and starting anew, and I will be more than happy to provide you with getting you here as well as to help close up any loose ends you may have in coming here. The only thing I ask of you is that should you agree to this deal, you must...I repeat, MUST...keep everything you see when you come here to yourself. The place I would be bringing you to is a very lovely place, and I dare say that I, as well as my daughter, would hate to see it tainted by government and industrial hands.

Should you decline, however, I completely understand if you find all of this just some foolery or "spam mail" as the young ones call it these days. If you do agree, my e-mail is provided and written inside the envelope this letter came in. Think carefully on this decision, and I do hope to hear from you again.
